About the event

Discover Gulabi Mela!

Gulabi Mela, also known as The Pink Fête, is an annual event during Mumbai Pride Month organized by Yaariyan for the LGBTQ+ youth in Mumbai. Established in 2014, this initiative has consistently provided a secure environment for marginalized LGBTQ+ individuals to engage with the local community, showcase their talents, participate in skill-building workshops, and inspire young entrepreneurs to present their ideas to an enthusiastic audience of over 1500 LGBTQ+ and ally community

members.

Gulabi Mela, with its wide range of activities and events, remains dedicated to addressing the diverse aspects within LGBTQ+ communities. It sustains an ongoing conversation on the advocacy of LGBTQ+ Human Rights, seamlessly blending it with the entertainment fold.

Following the tremendous success of 2023, Yaariyan is once again gearing up to host Gulabi Mela on January 28, 2024, promising an even more immersive experience.

Why we do Gulabi Mela?

1. To enable confidence within the talented LGBTQ+ artists by creating a platform to artistically express various queer identities and expressions to a larger mainstream society.

2. To create a cross-sharing space for discussions and interactions on LGBTQ+-themed theatre, music, and literature leading to broader acceptance of LGBTQ+ communities and their rights.

3. To offer an opportunity to budding LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs to pilot their ideas and

strengthen their chances of emerging as successful enterprises in the longer run.

4. To attract national and international visibility to India's LGBTQ+ community's Health and Human rights issues.
